Statement of Significance
I grew up in this area and as a boy did my first landscape paintings in what was then a cow paddock.This stand of outstanding River red gums is a remnant of the original trees on the Sturt River flood plain; the location is known to have been an important Aboriginal camping and burial site.(See also #070, which includes this stand)
